The ubiquitous coffee cup, it’s attached to the hand of 57.8%* of the American public at any given time. See someone without a coffee cup and they fall into one of two categories: the non-coffee drinker or the cranky coffee drinker.
When we are finished with our beloved coffee and have to throw away our paper coffee cups, it’s like having to say goodbye to a dear friend. “Goodbye my paper coffee cup friend. I will miss you and the times we had together. I’m sorry it has to end like this. I will see some of your friends in about 39 minutes when I take my next coffee break. I will tell them that you lived a great life, worked hard, and didn’t spill any coffee on my pants. Thank you for being you.”
But what if you didn’t have to say goodbye? The “I Am Not A Paper Cup” is a double-walled, thermal porcelain coffee cup with a silicon lid and the best part, you never throw it away. Well, not on purpose anyway. It looks like a paper coffee cup, but it’s so much more. No more heart tugging goodbyes–this coffee cup relationship can last forever.

Actually I like this cup. In fact, my Dilbert mug may be getting retired. And just imagine the conversations it will start with the folks at the office. “Hey, neat cup. Where did you get it? How much? You paid what?!!!!” Multiply that conversation by 182 times per week. Sold in a set of six. Which might be a good thing. If someone swipes it or the cleaning crew throws it away, you’ll have 5 more waiting in the wings. Made in France by Revol.

Once upon a time, there was a hamburger at McDonald’s called the McDLT – it’s claim to fame was Jason Alexander of Seinfeld, sporting a full head of hair and busting some pretty serious dance moves (yes, it can be seen at the end of the post). Wait, that wasn’t it – the McDLT’s claim to fame was the ginormous styrofoam box that magically kept the hot side hot, and the cool side cool. [click to continue…]
Now here’s a way of conservation that I never thought of. Recycling newspaper and cans, reusing dental floss, and bathing with the dirty dishes are no brainers. But creating drinking glasses from old car windshields – that’s a new one on me. These 8.25″ glasses have some heft and have a cool green tint to them. Handmade in Columbia. Sold in a set of two.

It’s time to replace the cardboard Budweiser coasters you took from Friday’s. And you might as well do it with some class. There’s something about the natural look and feel of a wood product, and bamboo is especially nice. Made of 100% organically grown bamboo, non-toxic adhesive, and natural food-safe wood oil. I’m sure you don’t plan on eating them, but it is nice to know that you could if you wanted to. Set of 4
